Math- Fractions (What are they? Equivalent fractions, simplifying fractions, adding/subtracting fractions, Mixed and improper fractions)

Reading- Long Path to Freedom -Harriet Tubman

Underground Railroad study.

War Horse- read aloud

Sci- Forces and Motion- your child has vocabulary cards they can study

SS- Conflict in America leading up to WWII

The Holidays are Here!!!!

Don’t forget to turn in your $5.00 for pizza and snacks by this Wednesday… Thursday will be the fifth grade pj, pizza party. We will watch movies, eat snacks and have fun!!! You are welcome to send in treats for the day to be shared with the grade level….

When we come back in December we will be studying:

1 expo marker for class

Pencils (no mechanical)

Colored pencils or crayons

1 black/white composition notebook

Vinyl pronged pocket folders (1 red, 1 yellow, 1 blue, 1 green)

Sneakers for PE

White T-Shirt to tie-dye. Buy larger than normal so that it can be worn all year after shrinking in dryer.

Glue sticks for class

Optional items:

1 pack of colored card stock (we use this for games/vocabulary)

Bags of individually wrapped candy for class rewards

Hand Sanitizer

NO TRAPPER KEEPER STYLE NOTEBOOKS!!!!! STUDENTS WILL BE ASKED TO TAKE THEM HOME. THEY ARE TOO LARGE FOR OUR DESKS.
